New year; new account.

  • Jan. 4th, 2009 at 2:32 PM

Alright, I've gone and done it...
I finally think I found a username I can stick with. That is, I won't get sick of it, or decide it sounds crap two weeks after I create it.

This journal is now officially abandoned;
all new entries will be at [info]tamchronic

Yeah, it's a hassle....
but I ain't forking out money for a name change token. :P

I'll add you all at my new account, and I'll probably delete this one.
Sorry for any trouble it's caused- I'll see you over at the new account.

A new year; a new start.

  • Dec. 31st, 2008 at 5:29 PM

So 2008 has come to an end, and the start of another year is upon us again.

It's time for us to look back on the year that we have had, and cast our hopes upon the year which we are
about to experience. Now is the time for recollection, reflection and reminiscience.

2008 has been a hectic, yet valuable year for me.

  • 11:29 PM

I'm at my good friend Bee's house right now, staying over tonight after Tiff's birthday lunch today.
We went to a restaurant in North Adelaide (her parent's new place) and it was nice, just a small group of us hanging out.
Me, Bee, Tiff, Nickie, Katie, Melo, Judy along with Tiff's family, so a good-sized group.
(I don't like large groups very much, too much energy/ too hard to get a word in XD)

Bee and I have been playing Spyro 2 on her old PS1 most of the day, actually, which is great- I love old-school classic games, more so than their shiny new counterparts. We also baked pudding for desert- Mocha flavoured, it was really nice. Bee's a great baker, I tried to help her, and I'm proud to say that it turned out pretty darn nice =]

Tomorrow I might visit some friends from Greece that have come down to Adelaide for a bit, it'll be nice to see them again as I haven't seen them since I went to Greece about six years ago =]

For now, so long, until next time.

Clothes maketh the woman.

  • Dec. 20th, 2008 at 8:39 PM

TEMT, how I adore thee. Yesterday I was in town with family, and my mother wanted to buy me and my sister our Christmas presents. After many unsuccessful attempts at finding nice clothes that I actually wanted to buy, we went into TEMT. Now, I usually hate the store, as I never see anything I like at the Elizabeth store. However, for some odd reason, there were tons of beautiful items relatively cheap on sale there, and my wonderful mother got me two skirts, a top and a dress- all for around $100 total. Finally, I have clothes I like. =]

Fifth Day of Happiness:
- Being able to sleep in, again, is wonderful. Still cant get over that.
-Playing with my papou's (grandpa's, for the non-Greek) new puppy, Benji. That dog is insane, yes, but also adorable.
- Going to watch a favourite movie with my dad and sister- Judgment Night. Obscure film, but it's just so damn quotable.
-POPCORN. =]

Twilight.

  • Dec. 15th, 2008 at 6:28 PM

On a spontaneous, random whim, Lauren and I decided to see Twilight today.

Half an hour before the movie, we decided to share our, erm, opinions on Edward with the world- we wanted tshirts, but couldn't find any cheap ones so we just made signs with the words 'EDWARD IS GAY' in big letters and carried them into the cinema. Shouted it out at various points in the movie as well.

But despite my radical feelings towards Edward;

Honestly, it wasn't that bad.

Of course, it wasn't great either, simply because, well....it's Twilight. How good could it possibly be? But, my opinion? It was a lot better when out of the impossibly incompetent Stephanie Meyer. No offence, but she has no idea how to write a good plotline or develop interesting characters.

I think the movie had a good soundtrack- the tracks were well-chosen and suited the movie's mood. Effects were done well, and many of the scenes were executed well, I also like the blue filter over the whole film, it gave it an interesting look. Despite the fact that many of the fans knocked the meadow scene, I actually preferred it in the movie to the book. It was just more interesting, more realistic, and it was filmed very well. The part of the movie I enjoyed the most was also the only part I thought was good in the books- from James' appearence onwards. The scene in the ballet studio was -very- well done and, in my opinion, better than the way I saw it in the book.
(God, [info]be_the_passion  is gonna kill me. XD)

I hearted Carlisle, James and Jacob. Jacob wasn't quite how I imagined him, but awesome nonetheless, with the other two being spot on. Charlie was good, Alice was good, Rosalie was good- honestly, most people were pretty well-cast, except for one obvious exception.

I hated Bella in the books and I hate her in the movie as well. I cannot sympathise with her, her character is just irritating, underdeveloped, one-dimensional and she does not grow up or change at all throughout the FOUR books. Kirsten Stewart seemed lifeless on screen. It wasn't the monotone that got me- just the utter lack of energy.

Edward was better than I expected. A lot better, actually. To be perfectly honest? I preferred his slightly-altered character in the movie than I did in the book. Once again, probably Stephanie Meyer's fault. In the book, I thought Edward was just too charming, too nice, too friendly- it didn't suit a lonely vampiric teenager like him, and felt out of place with the rest of his character. Socially-awkward-slightly-mean-Edward seemed much more realistic that Hello-I'm-charming-and-funny-and-perfect Edward, and it actually made it possible to believe that he might actually have -FLAWS-. Much unlike the books.

Overall, not a bad film. Not great, of course, but not a bad film.

I neglected the Eight Days of Happiness Meme yesterday, so here's todays.

1. Seeing Lauren again today- was very fun! Our posters were epic, were they not!
2. Sleeping in, Wonderful. =]
3. Spoke to quite a few people today that I haven't talked to in a while, and was glad to talk to them all again.

On another note, I want to change my online alias again. Don't like SimpleAnatopism anymore. If I do change, which I will, I'll probably make a new journal and re-add everyone and everything on there. I know, it's a hassle....but I have this weird thing where I want to be known by the same name everywhere.
My new name might end up being StolenResonance. Might pick something more normal-sounding though. Haven't decided yet.

Second Day of Happiness

  • Dec. 13th, 2008 at 11:49 AM

Hmm, what's made me happy today?
=]

1. Seeing Aden yesterday- okay, it was yesterday, but I'm glad I got to see him again before he goes to Singapore for a month.
2. WORKING PS3, WORKING LAPTOP, broken MP3 player but eh I'll get a new one, the point is THINGS ARE WORKING.
3. The rain today. Whenever it rains, I tend to spend a while outdoors, it relaxes me.
4. My dream last night- I Rick Rolled my school assembly. If only it could happen in real life...
5. Garnier Fructus Award...I believe only my sister, Aden and myself know what I'm talking about, but it was -funny-.

=D I like this meme.

  • Dec. 11th, 2008 at 3:18 PM

Was tagged for this by [info]crucioed- thank you =]

8 Days Of Happiness Meme → The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same.

-day one, thursday 11 december-

-The first day of Christmas break! Thank god. Was actually able to stay in bed this morning.
-Just playing my PS3 this morning is happyhappyhappy. The mere fact that it works is a big deal/
-The prospect of a Silent Hill 2 marathon with Aden tomorrow.

I don't feel up to tagging anyone, but I'll tell [info]be_the_passion  to do it, even though she most likely won't. :P

(On a side note to [info]be_the_passion , I think the bra just had the wrong sticker, the tag said it was the right size. XD)

Final day.

  • Dec. 10th, 2008 at 9:29 AM

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought this would be a good opportunity.

LAST DAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR FOR ME, FOLKS.

I'm honestly so glad this year is over. It's been a year of ups and downs, and I really hope that next year brings even more opportunities for me.

I've lost crappy friends and gained great new ones, and changed a lot in ways that I couldn't imagine at the start of the year.
I've realised what's important and what needs to be left behind.
in the end, I've discovered a lot about myself that I never knew before.

I need to get going now, update again later, but for now-
bye bye.

An interesting question...

  • Dec. 1st, 2008 at 6:19 PM

[info]be_the_passion/Ivana , myself, and another friend were ranting about Harry Potter during PE today, and we held a very interesting discussion which ended up as a debate over a very...erm, strange question.

What do you think: can a person who has no soul still get an erection?

That is, if one had their soul sucked out by the Dementor's Kiss?

We debated this for a long time....sad, I know. But we have nothing else to do with our time, so we debate these kind of things. Everyone I asked agreed with myself in saying that yes, they could still get a hard-on even without a soul, because an erection is just a bodily function and if a person is still alive, and still breathes, he can still get an erection.

Ivana disagreed, saying that they cannot (for reasons which are still unclear to me, personally).

Which side do you sit on?

Agree with me.

If fangirls ruled the world...

  • Nov. 22nd, 2008 at 12:19 PM

A conversation between myself and [info]be_the_passion had us asking- if fangirls ruled the world, what would happen? We decided that there would be an all-out war between fangirls of different fandoms, all fighting each other for the pride of their fandom.

This led us to another interesting question- which fandom would you fight for? If you had multiple fandoms and couldn't choose between them, what would you do? Which fandom would you choose?

I can't seem to make the choice. What would you do?

A happy birthday to [info]dearkiki =D

So, I haven't updated in a while. I've been incredibly busy editing this Silent Hill 2 parody (since video editing is such a bitch), and I think it turned out as good as it could be for something we filmed in one day. The bloopers are, of course, better than the actual video. We got 'James' played by my friend Maddie, to play Silent Hill 2 -in character-. "Oh my God, it's me! This is like, me life! I remember that glowing red panel!" it made it funnier that she couldn't play the game for shit, and was surrounded by 3 patient demons without knowing how to shoot them.

On another note, I broke my MP3 player. It's a shame, because it's still fairly new (have only had it for about 6 months), and, well, I liked it. What happened was, the headphone jack broke off the circuit board. I'm gonna try and repair it, but if I can't...not so good.

I finally read To Kill A Mockingbird (I've been meaning to read that for years...) and watched the movie again, and I gotta say- how many good book-to-movies have there been? The TKAM movie was, in my opinion, a brilliant representation of the book- it stayed very close to the original plot and the actors were all great. Lord Of The Rings was also a good book-to-movie, as they weren't afraid to actually go for it and make three-and-a-half hour movies- and they knew which parts to keep and what to toss.
Harry Potter, on the other hand, just got worse and worse as it went along. The books are all fantastic, but as the books got longer, the movies got shorter, and they cut out all the important information. The end of the fifth movie felt very rushed, I was left wondering "what happened to the rest of it??"

A question I need to ask. Who here actually uses Facebook? I don't like it. I have a MySpace and only ever use it for Mobsters, but now all my friends are getting Facebook. I dislike it.

bored bored bored.

  • Nov. 7th, 2008 at 2:21 PM

 *sigh*
School really shits me off sometimes. I am in a crappy mood, so thank god for LJ or I would be so incredibly bored right now. Trying to ignore everyone else jumping around taking photos around me. -_-'
I can't do my English assignment (incidentally, a Silent Hill parody- don't ask how we managed to fit that into an English assignment), because Maddie ain't here. We're filming it on Sunday- I'll post with the results, hopefully.....XD It's going to be cheesy, it's going to be lame, and it's going to involve pizza.

I need to get going right now, update later on.

Nov. 5th, 2008

  • 5:44 PM

I gotta say that I'm incredibly glad that Barack Obama won the US election today. At school, we checked every chance we could to see how the election was going, and there was unanimous cheer when we heard the final verdict in Science today (well, at least for those of us who follow politics. Some people barely knew who Barack Obama was.) We took a whole bunch of Photo Booth pics to commemorate the day, I think Jaya wants me to upload them, so I'll follow this post with an incredible picspam of Halloween, Bee's party and today's photo booths.

In Drama, when we asked if we could watch the live coverage, Mr. Masters went on a tirade over how it's American politics and we shouldn't be so fascinated with them because they don't concern us, but Jaya and I countered that they definitely did concern us because they are a world superpower, Australia follows whatever America does anyway, and that whatever happens in America always carries over to Australia in time.

French politics are more interesting, anyway. :P

Mass fuckage =]

  • Nov. 2nd, 2008 at 12:31 PM

Bee's party was great fun, I met a bunch of new people and had a good time.
There'll be some quotes I'll remember for a while:

Heames *standing up on table*: 'If I fell over right now, you'd all be fucked. There'd be unanimous fuckage all over the room. I just invented a new word.'. Fuckage was brought up over and over again throughout the next hour, and was defined as 'The act of being severely fucked, usually by Heames'. We decided that all the world's disasters, from the tsunami to the drought to 9/11 to WW2, were caused by Heames falling over.

And, if you want to silence an entire room filled with noisy people, just yell out 'TAMIKA'S A SLUT!!' It works.

Apparently, I have crabs, and those crabs have aids, and those aids have aids, and they have crabs again, and those crabs have herpes, which have gonorreah...it goes on like that for a while. The very last STD has a common cold.

I spent most of the night just dancing and stuff- a highlight was when we had a guys-on-girls danceoff, Step-Up-style. I happened to be the first person pushed into the middle....

Oh, and the Milan thing was pretty hilarious. See, we had a theory that Milan gets hard REALLY easily. We decided to test the theory, so we went up to him and started dancing on him- and bam. Hard. Instantly. He copped shit for that for the rest of the night. XD

Anyway, it was a good night. Pictures and probably videos will be up as soon as I get them.
Laters for now. xxx
-Tamika

Edit: [info]juxtaposedjaya is complaining that she has not been mentioned at all, as she was apparently (according to herself) the 'highlight' of the party. So here, have a mention, Jaya, so you stop complaining. =D

Trick-or-treating was fun this afternoon. People in St. Peters really get into it! One guy had this awesome fake corpse full of spaghetti in his front yard. :P

I was a little batgirl for the occasion, and we did get a fairly good haul of candy each =] No, we are not too old to go trick-or-treating. You're never too old, kids.

The decorations that people had on their houses were fun, like the woman with the giant spider. But one of the night's highlights was definitely the Dancing Doorbell. =D
This one house had a doorbell that played a little tune whenever you rung it. I don't think anybody was home, though, and it's kinda a good thing there wasn't because we spent about fifteen minutes on their porch ringing their doorbell and dancing to it.

>_>

We're not weird at all.

edited for a meme from [info]crucioed . Chelsea, repost this damnit! :P

massive Harry Potter meme.... )

Definitely don't have History to do.

  • Oct. 31st, 2008 at 11:12 AM

[info]juxtaposedjaya and I should be doing History, really. We should be happily writing our essays, researching up on pimp king Henry VII and his six wives.

I dunno what Jaya's doing, but I'm on Livejournal.

Jaya, get on here. =D

EDIT: Gina, make an account now and talk to me. Even though we're sitting right next to each other. Talk to meeeee.

XD

Dress up.

  • Oct. 28th, 2008 at 7:49 PM

Funnily, it turns out there are more Atmosphere fans around the place than I thought. She never told me Declan was a fan until today! Hehe....I cannot wait until New Years Day. I told Bee that when I saw Slug on stage, I would probably combust. If you see a little pile of blackened ashes running around...that would be me.

Speaking of Bee, ,the party will hopefully be off the chain. Though, it could use a few more people in costume... I know that I'm going as Misa (though right now I wish I had stuck with the Silent Hill Nurse idea), and that a few other people are going in costume...

COME ON PEOPLE. FANCY DRESS IS FUN. GET INTO IT. =D

On a completely different topic, the Mobsters hitlist is really bugging me right now. I can't bounty hunt as usual, because of all those lever 300+ kingpins clogging up the hitlist.
Sombody ice them already?

Hello to the people of LJ. I'm Tamika, and this is my new LJ. I abandoned my old account after I became to busy to update/lost interest, but after my friend [info]forever_dazzled recently made an account, I decided to make one as well.

I'll probably end up joining some fandom communities (you can expect Silent Hill to be top of the list) in the future, and in the meantime you will see this journal filled with rants, raves, updates on my daily mundane life which I will exaggerate a million times to make interesting, and occasionally pieces of fanfic when I can be bothered.

Expect an update in the near future =]
